Navigating Cognitive Barriers: How UX Writing Can Help Older Adults

As we age, our cognitive abilities decline, making it more challenging to navigate digital interfaces. This can lead to frustration and even disengagement, particularly for older adults who may already feel marginalized in the digital age. However, UX writing can help to alleviate these cognitive barriers and make digital experiences more accessible for older adults.

In this talk, we will explore the various cognitive barriers that older adults face when using digital products and services. We will also examine how UX writing can help to address these barriers by providing clear and concise instructions, simplifying complex concepts, and reducing cognitive load.

By making digital experiences more accessible for older adults, we can ensure that they are not left behind in the digital age, and that they can continue to engage with the digital world with confidence and ease.
